Tempered Chicken and Mushroom

Juicy chicken and mushroom, sautéed with onion, chilies and flavourful spices. Great on its’ own or as a side dish.

  • 400g chicken cut on the bone
  • 250g oyster or abalone mushroom
  • 1 sachet Knorr Chicken Curry Mix
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 1 pandan leaf
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoon chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 30g Astra
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice


  • Melt Astra in a pan, add onion, garlic, green chili, pandan leaf and curry leaves. Sauté till fragrant. Add chicken and sauté for a few seconds.
  • Now add the Knorr Chicken Curry Mix, chili powder, pepper powder, chili flakes and salt to taste. Cook till chicken is done. Then add the sliced mushrooms and temper for 2 minutes.
  • Season to taste with salt and lime juice. Serve hot.
  • Chef’s Tip:

    Abalone or button mushrooms are suitable for this recipe as oyster mushrooms will easily get mashed while cooking with meat.
