Crispy Dhal and Gotukola Rice

Tempered rice with crunchy dhal and the goodness of gotukola. A flavourful combination that looks and tastes great.

  • 100g dhal
  • 400g cooked rice
  • 200g gotukola
  • 1 Knorr Chicken Cube
  • 20g Astra
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chili flakes
  • Rampé and curry leaves


  • 1. Melt Astra in a pan. Then, add the dhal and fry till golden, on a very low flame.
  • 2. Add the onion, rampé and curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds. Then add the chili flakes, gotukola and the Knorr Chicken Cube.
  • 3. Mix in the cooked rice and combine well. Serve hot.
  • Chef’s Tip:

    Instead of the gotokola, spinach, mukunuwenna or any such green leaf can be used.
