Dhal Omelet

This is an omelet with a difference. It is a quick, easy and protein-packed breakfast or dinner for kids and adults.

  • 100g dhal
  • 1 Knorr Chicken Cube
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped
  • 10g Astra
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder


  • Boil the dhal in just enough water with the turmeric and chili powder. Just before the water evaporates, mix in the Knorr Chicken Cube.
  • Mash the boiled dhal well with a spoon or use a blender. While blending, add the eggs and Astra. Then, pour the mixture into a bowl and mix in the chopped chili and onion.
  • Melt a knob of Astra in a frying pan and add the dhal and egg mixture in batches. Let it cook halfway and then fold in carefully, to form an omelet.
  • Serve hot.
  • Chef’s Tip:

    You can sprinkle a little thick coconut milk on the omelet when cooking, to make it creamier.
