A passion for good and wholesome food goes right back to Knorr's earliest days. The business was born in 1838, when founder Carl Heinrich Knorr created dried soups by drying seasonings and vegetables whilst preserving their flavour and nutritional value. Since then, Knorr has become a global brand offering a range of stock cubes, sauces, seasonings, soups, soupy snacks, dressings and frozen ready-made meals.

Knorr products owe their tastes and flavours to the culinary expertise of its chefs. The tradition stands today and Knorr’s drive for innovation still centers around its original factory in Heilbronn where international teams of chefs contribute to product innovation. However Knorr is proud of its team of Sri Lankan chefs who bring in the expertise of the global brand with a local twist that creates flavours that are unique to the Lankan palate.
