Biryani Mix

A one-pot dish, boasting the most delectable flavors, made with basmati rice, chicken, fresh spices and herbs.

Ingredients

  • Chicken - 300g
  • Rice 500g
  • Onions– 2 no’s
  • Tomato – 4 no’s
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Ginger – 1 tsp
  • Green chili – 2
  • Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • Piece of Pandan leaves
  • A handful of Coriander leaves
  • Piece of Cinnamon
  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Coconut oil – 3 tbsp
  • Ghee - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Knorr Biryani mix – 1 pack
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 cups of water

METHOD

  • 1 - Marinate chicken with Knorr Biryani Mix pack, Chili powder and half a cup of water.
  • 2 - Heat oil and Ghee, add garlic, ginger, curry leaves, pandan leaves, green chilies, cinnamon and sauté till fragrant.
  • 3 - Add sliced onions, tomato, sauté till oil separates, add marinated chicken and sauté further.
  • 4 - Add rice, salt, water and cook well. Sprinkle chopped coriander and fried onion.
  • Close the lid for few minutes and serve hot.
  • Chef's Tip:

    Fried onion can be sprinkled for garnishing but can add more flavor if added when cooking.
